November's theme is MISSION and VISION

This Sunday's sermon: Recovering The Universalist Vision by Rev. Stephen Edington, read by Morris Hoagland

“Life is a mission, not a career. A career is a profession, a mission is a cause. A career asks, ‘What’s in it for me?’ A mission asks, ‘How can I make a difference?’”   Sean Covey

Lunch Bunch at Dwyer's Cafe, Sunday October 27.  If you are not going to attend The Gathering discussion, please plan to join the group after service on November 10 to continue fellowship.  Each Sunday we choose a restaurant.
POST ELECTION Many thanks to all who participated in the writing of postcard efforts.  The UUFoL, in conjunction with other committed groups, wrote, stamped, and mailed several hundreds of postcards.  In spite of the outcome of the election, we must continue our commitment to helping create the kind of world we wish to live in.  We must not give up or give in!  There are many excellent groups working for a better world.  Find out what needs to be done.  More than ever, the world needs your commitment.

THE INN MINISTRY
We could use coats, jackets, sweaters, warm pants, socks and blankets for the folks at the Inn, as winter is approaching.  Folks continue to need food, including protein, such as canned meats, beans and fish with pull tops.  For the folks not on the road, but struggling to feed their families, hotdogs and sliced meats are good.  Instant grits and oatmeal, quick-cooking rice, ramen noodles, and boxes of mac&cheese work well for those with microwaves.  Fresh produce is a blessing - fruit and veggies.  Janet and Jim wash broccoli, carrots, whatever they get, and bag them.

The Rummage Sale Fund Raiser at Jockey Lot was a success.  It took a lot of work.  Thanks to all who helped and donated.
