OUR FRIEND, MARTIN

 

 Dr. Martin Luther King,Jr. was a good man. He helped the African American people in America to be treated with respect. He gave many speeches and sermons in his church to help people understand how badly African Americans were being treated. He helped to make many changes in America. Dr. King was born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1929. He was a good student and went to college to become a preacher. He believed in making changes without violence. Many Americans did not believe Dr. King was right. He was killed in Memphis, Tennessee in 1968 and is buried at the King Center in Atlanta,Georgia. We honor him each year in January for his hard work and will remember him for being a person who made the world a better place for the African American people and for all of us.
