    HOW TO HELP:

    BECOME A VITA VOLUNTEER TUTOR

Volunteers are trained to  teach reading and writing skills  using easy to follow manuals. Tutoring sessions are held for 2 hours twice each week in a community location at a time and place convenient to both tutors and students.  VITA provides the professional training, materials, and support that enable the volunteers to be effective tutors.  Print and computer-based instructional materials that assist adults in acquiring basic reading and writing skills are used.  VITA also teaches ESL (English As A Second Language) classes to those whose first language is not English.

Refer a Student - You can help with the literacy movement.  VITA is recruiting students into their program. Doctors, teachers, priests, ministers, nurses, employers, family and friends can assist by encouraging someone who needs reading help to contact VITA.
    BECOME A VOLUNTEER TUTOR
Make a difference in someone's life.  Help someone improve their reading skills.
