This documentary, filmed entirely on location in France and England, tells the story of a relatively unknown WWII top secret spy mission involving a French Resistance network created by the Allies. 120 French men and women volunteered for this daredevil mission, jumping into France to gather and supply valuable information about German activity leading up to D-Day and beyond.  The director, Bonnie Friedman, will be present for a Q&A.

Creole cowboys and Cajun jockeys, Cotton Knights and Mardi Gras revelers reveal the long history and blend between Creoles and Cajuns and the horses they love. This equine love affair began more than 250 years ago on the first ranches of South Louisiana. Creoles and Cajuns are some of America's first cowboys. Not only essential to work, horses  were often the focus of French Louisiana's renowned joy of life.

The Long Road to Justice

Nine years before Rosa Parks famously refused to give up her seat on a bus in Montgomery, Alabama, an African Nova Scotian entrepreneur made a similar stand in a New Glasgow movie theatre. This brand new documentary highlights the life of Viola Desmond and the impact her actions had on the struggle for civil rights in Nova Scotia.

The screening will be followed by an interview with Sgt. Craig Smith
A 15-year veteran of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Sgt . Craig Smith has written and/or edited the Journey African Canadian Resource Guide (1999), You Had Better Be White By Six AM—The African Canadian Experience in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (2006), and The Ultimate African Heritage Quiz Book Maritime Edition (2008) . He has lectured on African-Canadian achievements at schools and conferences in the U .S . and Canada, including at the 2005 NABSE Conference in Detroit, and the 2009 International Black Social Workers Conference in Dartmouth . Craig is a Canadian National Griot Award winner, a Rev . Dr . William P . Oliver Black Wall of Honour inductee, and he has been featured in Who’s Who in Black Canada . From 2006–08 he served as president of the Black Hockey and Sports Hall of Fame.

Feed the Fish

Feed the Fish is a romantic comedy which is set in a small town in Wisconsin. Joe, who is a writer and illustrator for L.A., has writer's block. After breaking off his relationship with his girlfriend, he heads to Wisconsin with a friend. He befriends a local hermit, is attracted to the man's granddaughter, and must deal with the local sheriff's dislike of anyone from out of town. Plus, the sheriff is the young woman's dad - with a gun. With Christmas approaching, things get complicated.
